Hi Everyone! The 2014 Capital Dancesport Championships are just a 14 weeks away and we are gearing up to bring you another exciting and fun filled weekend of dancesport competition! We have been working hard to create our best event ever, so here are some reminders about our event, or if you are joining us for the first time, things you should know about Capital Dancesport.
Circuit Affiliations:
World Pro Am Dancesport Series .Capital Dancesport is a Proud member of the World Pro Am Dancesport Series, which is a combined effort of 85 competition organizers throughout North America. We offer DanceSport Series Qualifying Events in all four styles as independent entries from our other Championship and Scholarship Divisions. So if you are looking for qualifying points, these are the divisions for you. Global Dancesport Series: It is the second year the Capital Dancesport celebrates as a member of the Global Dancesport Series. For those of you who are looking to accumulate points towards the Global prizes please put Capital Dancesport on your summer competition schedule. Best of the Best : Capital Dancesport is part of the Best of the Best Circuit. We host the Best of the Best Six Dance Challenge in American and International Styles. enter these divisions to win the Best of the Best Six Dance Challenge and represent Capital Dancesport at the Best of the Best Grand Finale in Ohio!
New Categories or Special Divisions:
World Pro Am Dancesport Series Closed Bronze and Silver Divisions We are pleased to announce the introduction of these categories for 2014. If you have wanted to participate in the Dancesport Series Qualifying Events and dance closed material only, these are the divisions for you. Any and all competitors may enter in Age Divisions A/B/C and dance Closed Bronze Material. The Same goes for Closed Silver Material in Age Divisions A/B/C. One age only please! Professional Theatre Arts Compulsory Division: Capital Dancesport offers a Professional Division for the Compulsory Theatre Arts division offered at USDC. This is a perfect opportunity for those competing at USDC to give their routines a dry run before the United States Championships. Definitely an opportunity you won’t want to miss.
