Welcome to Capital Dancesport 2013

Hi Everyone, John DePalma and Marianne Nicole here! We would like to welcome you to the New Capital Dance Sport Championships website. We hope you enjoy the new site, our new look, and how easy it is to navigate and find all the information you need. Lots of fun and exciting changes are up for Capital Dancesport 2013! Our biggest news for this year is that Capital has gone Global, and we are now a member of the Global Dancesport Series. For those of you doing the Global circuit, Capital Dancesport now provides you with another opportunity to earn more points towards the Global finale! We are pleased and honored to be new members of the Global Series. All Global events are required to offer specific Global Scholarships, so we chose to make our Junior and Youth Scholarship Divisions all Global events. Our Junior and Youth Dance Sport Championships held on Sunday, August 25th, is shaping up into what we are sure will be an exciting day of Pro/Am and Amateur Junior and Youth Competition. Based on numerous requests from our competitors we are also adding Proficiency Divisions at the Bronze and Silver levels for this year. please make sure you read the release regarding this new addition to our entry lineup. Also new for 2013 is the introduction of our American Style Congress Series. With the New York Dance Festival covering the East Coast and the Galaxy Dance Festival covering the West Coast We are now the third event to hold a dance congress devoted solely to the American Style for the Mid Atlantic Region. We have an all star faculty that will provide you with all the information you need to perfect your American Smooth and Rhythm dancing! The American Style Congress will be held on Wednesday, starting in the morning, and is open to Professionals, Students and Amateur Dancers. At $20 per session or $100 for all 6 lectures, this is definitely a great way to kick off your weekend and a great value to gain some knowledge from some of the best in the business! We are instituting a a new system for hotel reservations for 2013. With so many people who have points and special deals through their own programs, we are no longer acting as the middle man and booking room reservations. There is a block of rooms designated for Capital Dancesport Championships at a special convention rate. All attendees may book directly with the hotel. For your convenience, there is a link from the website directly to the Hilton Alexandria at Mark Center, which will enable you to book online or call for your reservation. We believe this to be in the best interests of our competitors. We welcome your feedback on this new system. So please let us know how it works for you.
