Open Letter from John and Marianne

Hello Everyone, John DePalma and Marianne Nicole here! We wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of our Professionals, Students and Spectators for your attendance and support of the 2012 Capital Dancesport Championships. We are fortunate to have received some very positive feedback about the event, the new time schedule and the new hotel renovations. Congratulations to all of our Top Student, Top Teacher and Top Studio winners. With populated heats in all styles and high quality competitors at all levels your top awards were well earned! We thank all of our Sponsors, both published and anonymous for their generosity and support of our event, and our wonderful Capital Dancesport Team who work hard both behind the scenes and out in front to make your Capital Dancesport experience an enjoyable one. We would especially like to thank JT Thomas, who stepped into the role of director for our annual Professional Show on Saturday evening and created an outstanding production with the many talented dancers and Championship winners who attended in a tribute to Whitney Houston and her music. And a special thanks to our IT man, Doug, who filled the video screens with photographs of Whitney, which served as a beautiful backdrop to our talented performers. For those of you who departed on Sunday morning, the inaugural event of the Capital Dancesport Junior and Youth Dancesport Championships was a small but high caliber morning of great dancing by some very talented dancers from the Metro DC Area, New Jersey, and Montreal, Canada. The judges were especially impressed with the quality these young dancers presented as well as the maturity of their execution. Hats off to their coaches!! We are looking forward to growing our Capital Dancesport Junior and Youth Championship into one of the premiere events on the Eastern Seaboard. We thank all of you who attended and look forward to even bigger and better participation next year! It is always amazing to us how quickly the year goes while planning our event, and then the competition itself seems to fly by even faster once its underway. As Capital Dancesport draws to a close, we once again express out heartfelt thanks for your support. With so many events available to you during the summer months, and especially in August, we are grateful to those who make Capital Dancesport part of their summer schedule.
