Dance Requirements
Material used in all divisions should be based on all approved NDCA Syllabus and allowable figures.
Closed Divisions: Pro/Am & Amateur – American or International – Newcomer, Pre-Bronze, Bronze 1, Full Bronze, Newcomer Silver, Silver 1, Full Silver, Gold 1, Full Gold.
Open Divisions: Pro/Am & Amateur – American or International – Single or Multi-Dance: Open Bronze, Open Silver, Open Gold, Scholarships, Pre-Championships, Open Amateur Championships, Solo Exhibitions and all Professional Divisions.
No Lifts are permitted at any time in the above mentioned divisions with the exception of Professional Theatre Arts. Please see NDCA Rule Book.
Professional Theatre Arts Competitors and Pro/Am Solo exhibitions must provide their own music through a CD or a queued analog cassette tape.
Due to time constraints, the maximum time allowed for Solo exhibitions is 2.5 minutes. Only the first 25 exhibitions will be accepted.
Age Categories may be merged when there are less than three (3) entries in any Pro/Am Category.
Pro/Am and Amateur competitors may dance two age divisions and three consecutive levels, plus Open Championship and Scholarship Divisions. Please note that in Open Divisions, student may dance one age division only.
Scholarship Divisions: Age divisions for all Closed Scholarships is A/B/C unless otherwise stated. Open Scholarships are merged ladies and gentlemen and all ages. A competitor must enter in a minimum of 4 single dance categories in the same style to be eligible to participate in any scholarship of that style.
